June

When the “I Love You” song comes on at the end of Barney, Noah will find one of us, pull us over to the TV, and give a big hug like the kids do to Barney. Sometimes this is followed by a high-five or a handshake, depending on what the kids do! (6/28)

Some of Noah’s recent favorite phrases: (6/22)

 I made a mess. (6/29)

I did it!

 I don’t know.

 There it is!

It’s right there!

Where’s grandpa? (when grandma shows up without grandpa)

Where’s truck? (when grandpa shows up without his truck)

Noah gets around very well on his tricycle! (Not pedaling yet, though.) He recently decided to follow the big kids down the hill on Ben and Bray’s driveway! Yes, that means he flew down the hill on his tricycle! Several times.  He’s surprisingly good. Mommy wasn’t ready for that for another 2 years! (6/22)

Noah has a wading pool that he enjoys. He is still trying to master the slide on his own. He has also gotten over his fear of big pools, and enjoys going to the Patyk’s pool next door. We also have taken him to the Carowinds water park twice. Good ways to beat the heat! (6/22)

Noah is finally growing tired of Thomas the Tank Engine, and prefers watching Barney and anything with animals, especially lions. He seems to enjoy his fear of lions. He’ll request to see them on a video and then insist on sitting in a lap and cuddling and shrieking whenever they appear. It can be fun! (6/22)

Noah’s favorite toys: (6/22)

 Anything with a hammer.

 Anything that stacks.

 Anything that goes.

Anything good for throwing (soft balls).

 Anything that makes loud noises.

 Anything that involves water.

 Sticks and rocks.

And he still likes his books, especially while riding in the car.

Noah is making a lot of progress learning his shapes, colors, animals, and body parts. He enjoys puzzles a lot, especially those involving fitting shapes into holes. The shapes he knows well are circle, oval (yes, he can tell the difference!), square, and triangle. He still thinks octagons are circles, and that snails are turtles, so maybe he’s not quite ready for kindergarten yet! (6/22)
